Wow, and for a long time, I've been feeling guilty about eating late at night while studying, not eating enough grapefruit and craving food that I enjoy--good to know.

    5. Can you eat too many raw vegetables? I've become a vegetarian and find that I have a sore stomach. I eat yogurt/rice pudding and have been cooking my vegetables sometimes but I still have this sore stomach. Any advice would be appreciated......Oh I am at my desired weight and feel great except for my stomaach.

Joy, I would like to know where exactly you got your information from. I can remember when the news about eggs came out how bad they are for you; turns out opps guess their not bad after all...years later. For you to write that cabbage soup or celery will (as you put it) NOT make you lose weight, I want to know how you can back your statement up. Thanks, from: I lost 15 pounds and kept if off with the cabbage soup diet. :)

I get hungry only late at night, so I have to eat then. I have lost 25 lbs by walking 30 min. a day, so I guess I will stick with it

not if you don't overcook them. Try to cook them al dente( just cooked enuff to digest), that is the best way

For starters, yes, nutrition is somewhat deminished by cooking. Some vitamins are lessened by heat. Secondly, some foods, like celery and red cabbage, don't burn fat. However, they are catabolic. Meaning that it takes more calories to digest them than what you get out of them. That can, if the calories aren't readily available then they must come from the bodies reserves...ie fat. Again, these are not as catabolic if they are cooked. It all comes down to asking an Nutritionist. Cheers

If your stomach hurts, check WHAT vegetables are you eating raw and either steam them or avoid them altogether. My best advice would be to get a book for vegetarian diets, you can eat more than veggies, I assure you! and get some tips on how to cook your food withouth adding too much fat or losing the much needed nutrients, if you want I have a couple of titles that might help but I'm not sure I can just post the names
