I liked your article, I was recently DX as HTN and handed the DASH diet, and noticed I was doing most of it, but alot I didn't know, and yes- I was always cranky with working 45hrs a week, 10 hrs comute, and nursing school at night with 12 hr clinical on weekends... eating differently not only improved my mood, my weight has dropped and I even have the energy for a walk 3-4 times a week! Your article is easy to read and full of info for anyone who needs or wants a change!

Thank you for your suggestions. It is important for us to do all we can for our health and I appreciate people like you who wish to help us in that effort. I agree with everything in this article but was surprised that organges and carrots were suggested. Both are very high in natural sugar and ultimately can cause the same affect.

I love walnuts and I never knew that they were high in Omega 3. I will be eating more.

I am a diabetic. Aren't some of these fruits and vegis that you mention in your article bad for diabetics? Incorporate soluble fiber -- Foods rich in soluble fiber have the ability to slow down the absorption of sugar in your blood and therefore, lessen blood sugar and mood swings. Incorporate oats, brown rice, barley, apples, pears, strawberries, oranges, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, and beans into your diet.
