I could be a better nutritionist than Joy Baeur. I don't understand how an intelligent woman can suggest un-natural, non-organic choices to replace the so-called bad choices. Ben&Jerry's is all-natural ice cream and Turkey Hill isn't! It doesn't matter how much fat content is in a pint of Ben&Jerry's because you shouldn't be eating the whole pint in one sitting anyway. People who care about their health should eat ONLY all-natural organic food. The food has to be both all-natural and organic which means free of artificial ingredients and pesticides. Joy Baeur makes me want to go back to college and become a nutritionist and show people who care about their health how to really eat.

I love her chips choice! I love her burger choice! I love her fries choice! I love her chicken wings choice! I love her pasta choice! I don't care for fast food but I do like her Taco Bell choice! My boyfriend loves fast food and I will only eat the healthiest choices they have like the steak or chicken fresca at Taco Bell because they don't put all that artificial stuff on it. You can have just steak, tomatoes, and greens on your soft taco. That is great news for me because I can't eat the cheese and the cheese is made with artificial ingredients anyway -- gross! I don't like her pizza choice! I don't like her ice cream choice! I don't like her bread choice! I don't like her cookies choice! My suggestions: Bread Lose: two slices of white bread with butter Choose: two slices of Food-For-Life Ezekiel 4:9 bread with all-natural fruit spread/Cookies Lose: two raw chocolate chip cookie dough squares Choose: two all-natural cookies of your choice

This LOW fat garbage you are promoting is ridiculous and not good nutritional advice. You need to learn how the body works and then understand how the food industry is creating a monster by promoting this garbage to make more profit and destroy American's health. Just unbelievable how you so called "food experts" are nothing more than "hired guns" of the food industry all dressed up to look like you know what you are doing and promoting this lunacy. You need to eat fat to lose fat. Get the book, "Life Without Bread" by Christian Allan, Ph.D. to give you some very basic understanding of why this is true. It's no wonder why taking Gallbladders out of people has become almost epidemic in America. No wonder Pavlov Aerola, the famous vegetarian nutritionist that believed strongly in the lowering cholesterol, low fat diets, died of a stroke at 62! Just incredible. It's no wonder why Lipitor is the number one drug being sold in America now.

The point of comfort food is comfort not low calorie. There is nothing comforting about anything South Beach, Soy chips or a pita pizza.

Wouldn't it be better to say to try to get your mind on something else or do something constructive for comfort such as cleaning, verses eating? I am not going to print out this list of substitutes. At least this was direct and to the point.

Don't imply that we're going to see a list of "comfort foods" and then give us a list of junk foods or fast foods instead..........Not the same things!!!!!!!!!

I can appreciate where you are trying to come from with this, but WOW!!! though these suggestions may be lighter in calories from fat, nutritionally, this food is of no value and ultimately this is not going to help anyone. It will simply prolong the inevitable. Poor food combinations of starches and proteins, way too many starches that stress the pancreas and lay a foundation for the possiblity of diabetes. Even vegetarians who do not deal with proper food combining are killing themselves slowly from a lack of proper digestion, absorbtion and asymilation of vital minerals and NO ENZYMES when every meal is a cooked one. Nutritional advisors needs to be re-educated on what nutrition really is. This advice is more like asking the client which mode of death do you choose? Hanging or Firing squad... People are supposed to comfort People, NOT food. Teach that so we can get out of this mindset of the easy "comfortable" way out. America is SICK, big time, so the path to wellness is not going to be as easy and comfortable as they would like it. Speaking Truth to Power. I pray you use your power properly. I like all the tips, but greater detail would be good and more alternatives in case you don't like the taste of some things listed or are allergic. For example, what if for pasta I don't like macaroni and cheese, or need sliced bread? I would like it more in depth, but thanks anyway.
