Reading the words "causing inflamation in the body" concerned me as I have been having trouble lately where my ankles swell. It seems very random and I have started to see a naturopath to see if it is something I am eating that is causing this problem. Is there anything that you can suggest that I should do?

Why do I always see that words LoneStartNow??? Hello people? Are you really satisfied customers of that program? I personally think you are just advertizers that try to convince people to buy that program. I hope everyone who reads this wakes up and re-read Joy's post. You do not need to waste money to loose weight. Just the determination and knowledge on the RIGHT foods to eat. Anything in moderation is okay! Internet gives out free information on dietary plans. You really not need to waste your money.

jeni_love, I don't know about some of the other people, but I looked at the website, and at the message board, and I AM one of those people that needs help organizing a healthy diet. I read a lot of the entries on the message board and decided I would try it. The program has worked for me, but I agree that it is in everyone's power to get healthy on their own. One thing is sure. I'll never look at sugar the same way again.

QUESTION My question is, if you drink Welches Grape juice is this full of added sugar or natural sugar? In a 1.82 litre jug it states 41 grams of sugar. Thanks

Exactly. Sugar is "white poison", You go to any grocery store and it would be tough to find stuff that do not have loaded sugar. those people could add less sugar that would give taste and would be less poisonous. There should be regulations as not to add any sugar in any foodstuff unless there is warning that sugar is injurious to health. do not eat canola oil or anything made in canola oil- again poisonous- canola oil is non plant or animal origin. there is a big politics going around . We need to start crusade because diabetes kills more people than any war does. wake all please.

Hi Everybody! I can't say enough about how horrible sugar is for your body, that's why I've switched over to the polyol Xylitol. It's awesome! You can use it just like you would sugar with 40% less calories and it's diabetic-friendly. Not only that, but it has numerous positive side effects including strengthening bone-density and preventing cavities and tooth decay. If anyone is interested you can get a great deal on xylitol @ www.epicdental.com. That's where I get mine from; it's really pretty amazing!

I am an admitted SWEET FREAK!!! - if I stop eating sweets, I get cravings for them - I made peace by eating a banana or a few dates or grapes - I know - still sugar - but I feel better (don't get the highs/lows) - and no cravings - my personal compromise - but this I can do for life, what little is left of it :-)

Is maltodextrose equivalent to glucose in terms of its effect on insulin? The book Sugar Busters lists it; but some commercial foods which are advertised as safe for diabetics have maltodextrose.

If we worry too much about sugar intake, we may be missing out on the importance of life: which is Live. I'm 34 years old, 158lbs and a 4% body fat. Of course, I watch my sugar intake as well as everything else I put in this body, but I make sure to have fun in life. Don't concentrate too much on sugar content. Have fun and you will know what's too much for your body type. We're a smart species. Happy living!!!
