Good idea to post on Joy! I haven't noticed before but some of my own health problems, including urinary acidity and bone strength, may be result of over salted foods i hadn't paid attention to as a kid! Can't wait to read the other parts, your health blog has always been very informative on new and recurrent subjects of health. Keep biting

Stores - reg food or health food carry lots of salt-free seasonings, but you have to like treasure hunts to find them.

Does anyone know whether there is truth to the belief (which has been touted as scientific), that hypoglycemics do not need to worry about salt intake because their bodies dump salt? Thanks!!

I would like to know the difference of sodium content between kosher salt and table salt. I prefer to use a dash of kosher when I cook. But since kosher is flakes of salt, and therefore lighter, wouldn't I get less sodium from, say, 1/4 t kosher than 1/4 t table salt? This has been driving me crazy, and I can't find any information on this. I AM trying to cut back on my sodium, but occasionally I have to have a little bit!! Can anyone help me on this?

Yes Kosher salt has less sodium than regular table salt. Regular table salt has 580mg per teaspoon as Kosher salt has about 420mg per teaspoon. Hope this helps you out.
