Amen to that! Exercise and cutting back portions, skip the fries, sodas and sugars. Learn to eat for survival not mindlessly! You wouldn't put diesel fuel in your car would you?!

I wish she had elaborated and indicated the best way to burn fat; especially since she expounded on how to build muscles.

Seems to me that if you take on a diet and exercise routine that burns fat and builds muscle, from a glogal perspective you have turned fat into muscle! But thanks for the details. Also, anyone who doesn't associate soreness with pain, has never been really sore. While perhaps not exactly true, these adages do in fact have some historical insight to which people can relate.

To complete the cycle of burning fat coenzyme Q10 content of mitochondria is essential. This enzyme is depleted by drugs or disease. Can supplementing with a 100% soluble CoQ10 (Q-Gel*) help the burning of fat? Dr Patel

As a personal trainer, I have to say this is well written and very easy to understand. It breaks down complex information and clearly explains the process. Now I want to buy her book!

As someone who trains regularly and sticks to a higher protein (at least tries to!) diet, what she says is true. However, you are not building muscle during the act of exercise, but actually damaging it and breaking it down. The building happens in the recovery phase, which is why it is important to eat the proper protein to facilitate this rebuilding process. Having a higher lean muscle-to-fat ratio raises your resting metabolic rate. Only fat-burning cardio--done at your target heart rate for 20 min./3 x weekly will actually burn fat.
