Hi, Everthing today is about losing weight, but I am desperately trying to put back weight after 6 jaw surgeries with a 25 lb weight loss most of it due to high doses of antibiotics resulting in diarrhea for 6 wks. and an inability to eat normally following each surgery. I have always exercised and taken vitamins and still do so, but my metabolism seems to be at a standstill. I take a high calorie powder called Scandishake mixed it with milk and strawberries and other fruits, also take whey protein (which I add to the drink and to juice). My current weight is 76 lbs. My normal weight is 103-105. Can you give me any suggestions? Christine Napolitano

Duhhhhh....Tell me something I dont know. I actually thought low-carb diets are a healthy way of losing weight. GET OVER IT...Go exercise, and eat a balanced healthy diet.

There's a workout machine out there that really helps with abdominal area but is not severe and works all the postural muscles all the way around the torso. It is the abdoer. Has helped me with my waist, stomach, and low back so much. Unfortunately it looks like so many other lesser designed machines but it is embraced by the physical therapy community, etc. It is easy to do even if you are out of shape. You can get them at some Wal-marts. The current model is the abdoer extreme.

ya rain, you dork. how would that make sense. if my girlfriend who comes in at 115 pounds takes in 50g of pro. your saying then, that i should only eat 50g. i'm 6' 225 and i'm in the gym every other day. i need way more pro just to keep the muscle i have, let alone try to build. but hey it's ok, we love you anyway.

Just start with a two (2) mile power walk every day, if it is not raining & the rest will take care of itself, including the stress & mental condition. The rest is just basic & the two mile power walk is a must for exercise, & mental condition.....

this seems like very behind the times advice. 4 - 5 hours a day you should eat! more like every 2.5 - 3. strive for 5-7 meals a day. also 1000 calories seems very low...particularly if you are advocating exercise. also protein recommentation seems too light
