I get a migraine headache almost everyday. Im not sure if it has to do with my severe allergies or not. Sometimes I awake with them and sometimes the onset is a couple hours after getting out of bed. I went to a neurologist about 5 years ago and took Maxalt for a year but it was so expensive that when I lost insurance I couldn't afford it. I tried everything for them. I think that initially they started as caffiene withdrawl or from stress and now they have become rebound headaches. The only thing that helps besides prescription pain relivers is an OTC migraine medicine like Excedrin Migraine, but you can't take more than 2 a day and they only work for a few hours. All the OTC medicines I have been taking have really done a number on my stomach. Does anyone have any suggestions on something that could clear my sinuses and ease the pain long enough for me to stop having rebound headaches from medicine?

Hi all, I have a friend that until a few years ago suffered severely with migraines. She swears that when she started drinking orange juice with extra calcium, that her migraines stopped. She literally carries around a mug full of juice all day long like other people would that drink coffee or sodas and she is migraine free. And for #3, another co-worker was just telling me that about once every few years she suffers with allergies and extreme sinus pressure. When this happens to her, she takes an over the counter medicine called Cordicin for those with high blood pressure. She said that there is nothing else in the medicine other than the medicine that relives the sinus pressure. You might want to check with your doctor to see if this would work for you.

Accupuncture is a effective symptom free remedy for migraine sufferers. I found medications to have unbearable side effects, be very expensive and not always help. Accupuncture is the only thing that has worked. Besides giving up triggers, this is the only thing I have found helpful.

I"ve been taking a magnessium supplement before I go to bed and have gone two years now with out a migraine. I read that in some people a low level of magnesium in the blood will trigger a migraine. It worked for me, its cheap no side affects might be worth a try.
