i was wondering what the chances of getting cardiomyopathy when my mothers sister died of it. she had a massive heart attack on her 31st birthday and died then. how about the chances of my mom having heart problems? it was my moms dad, my grandpa who had the heart problems that my aunt inherited and died from. her children, 1 son and i daughter run very high risks of inheriting this from their mom, right? thank you and i will be looking forward to your response.

On occassion I get lightheaded, extremely weak, perspire profusely and become nausceous. My father died of CAD (first heart attack at 53) and my mother has severe PAD. I am a 56 year old female, have 30% blockage of mid RCA and moderate mitral insufficiency. My LVEDP is elevated at 22. I am not overweight, am a reformed heavy smoker (7 years free) and am post menopausal. Should I be concerned about the recent lightheadedness, etc?

Have you ever been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation? I have a client, who is also a physician, who has this disease. It can be controlled with medication...
