Interesting.My EBCT scan showed a plaque score of 462, very high for a 48 year old male who watches his diet and runs 20-40 miles per week.However much to my surprise Ultrasound tests showed no evidence of plaque in my carotid arteries.Having a lot of trouble finding a statin I can tolerate.I sure wish drug companies would spend more time trying to eliminate the side effects of drugs than coming up with the next "me too" drug.

i have overlapping Cypher stents in the proximal LAD that were placed 3 years ago. I take ASA 325; crestor 20; toprol XL 50; HCTZ 12.5 and Atacand 32. Should I increase the Crestor to 40 or switch to a more powerful statin altogether?
