Try this for aggressive management: eat a diet rich in fish, olive oil, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, grains, supplemented with essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and the right spices. The patient will see his arthritis, arteriosclerosis, elevated cholesterol and blood pressure improve tremendously. All chronic inflammation is caused by a poor diet and can be reversed through a better diet.

The dietary part it's ok by me but what about prophylaxis? Should the patient receive cholesterol lowering drugs prior to the onset of atherosclerosis? Statins are in progress of being certified as anti-inflammatory drugs. Isn’t this a 2 way approach to the RA problem?

This is very true. The connection between rheumatoid arthritis and heart disease has long been established and often ignored. If you have RA then you need make sure your doctor is paying attention the your cholesterol and blood pressure. Rusty http://arthritis-symptom.com/
