Great to know doc!! I have been taking a baby aspirin a day just in case, but now I'm not so sure if I should be doing that after reading this article. hmmm.

Since you didn't give the mg of aspirin used in the Under-50 study, I don't know if I should discontinue use or go on with it!! By the way, I always love your articles.. they are so well written and informative that we just absorb the info and there's not much to say about it!! LOL! (meaning you don't create much controversy since you deal in facts!!)

Good information; however, what are the long-term effects of memory loss of the patient? Does this reverse after time? What are the other serious side effects?

5 yrs. ago I got a stent in a coronary artery. Have taken Plavix & 81mg aspirin every day since. Was just diagnosed with gastritis and duodinitis after a trip to the ER. How long should you take these meds?

I had a quadruple bypass in 1998. In 2003 I had four stents inserted into my coronary arteries. I was told to take Plavix. I couldn't afford it. So I've been taking a daily children's aspirin. It's now 2008 and guess what, folks. I'm still alive! Long live good old aspirin . . .
