The butter aspect is debatable in corrective diet. Food manufacturers have reluctantly switched from palm and coconut oils and lard to partially hydrogenated vegetable oils. Ever ASKED YOURSELF WHY IT IS THAT ISLANDERS who drink, cook and live on this stuff HAVE LOW HEART disease!

correct numberr 4 and 5.garlic powder contains no sodium unless indicated. you must mean garlic salt. It is vitamin b6, not folic acid that reduces homocysteine levels and that prevents heart attacks. Folic acid prevents birth defects.

If people would switch to EVOO(extra virgin olive oil), they wouldn't have to worry so much about their trans fats. Omega 3 fatty acids are also found in Avocados too and not in just fish:) Garlic...always try to use fresh:) Salt substitutes are as a general rule, crappy in taste and in nutrition. Use kosher salt...in moderation. Stay away from frozen prepared meals and canned goods that have salt added. Some of those frozen meals have more than a daily allowence of sodium in one meal! Read you labels and use real salt, not the mined stuff, in moderation. Moderation is usually the key for the saltaholics.

follow this heart health advice at your own peril. dr margolis doesn't even know that omega 3 fatty acids are found in grass fed beef, bison, or free range chicken, turkey or any other edible animal. INFLAMMATION is the problem, NOT cholesterol. luckily after suffering through 3 heart attacks, two bypass surgeries and a stent I've found that the cure is indeed nutritional. It is caused by excess omega 6 intake and little to no omega 3 intake. read these books - The Queen of Fats by Susan Allport, NO more Heart disease by (Nobel Prize winning research scientist) Louis Ignarro, and books by author / researcher Dr. Barry Sears. there are many more but that is what google and amazon.com is for. good luck

Eating low sodium is half the battle. No one has any idea how bad it is to have a high intake of salt in your diet. There are a few sites out there to help, but I have found a reliable one in www.heartwisefood.com A family favorite is Cento Pizza sauce and Delicatessen Pizza/Foccasia Crust. They love it and don't taste any difference!!
