I am happy to say that I have been involved in successfully reviving 2 people b/c of my BCLS training. However, that said, with the amount of "sewage" otherwise known as people filing law suits against people who were otherwise just trying to help "the best they could"...most people don't want to get involved. In addition, with AIDS, Hepatitis and everything else nasty...you as the bystander risk your own safety to help others. It's a real shame what this worlk has come to.

My Doctor in Nigeria diagnosed me with heart failure occasioned by high cholesterol and high blood pressure . Additionally my blood has a high clotting factor. I have also had choking spells at least 20% of the time at meal times . I have has to change my diet in the last 5 years using heart friendly oils , cut out salt, coffee, soft drinks and eating plenty fruits and veggies. I have also gone off my normally stressful construction work and changed my lifestyle.Under my doctors management, my blood pressure has stabilised and I have been taken off norvasc. Now I have pains and tightness in my chest. My doctor is on holiday and I need help fast.

Many people fail to intervene out of fear of contracting a disease by mouth contact. Now the experts are saying just doing the chest compressions until EMTs arrive can do just as good as the whole "breathe, pump routine" of CPR. The emergency 911 contact can talk you through CPR even if you have never done it before. I know. With the help of 911, I kept my husband going until EMTs arrived and he survived sudden cardiac arrest at age 77. He will be 80 next month.
