I beleive there is a product on the market called " Protandim "....They sell it at GNC stores or online at protandim.com. They swear that their product reduces oxidative stress and has amazing results. Expensive,,but worth it I hope !

the reason antioxidants can't beat effects of oxidative stress maybe due to the limited amount and variety infused into our system. the amount needed usually can't be supplied by our daily diet. food supplements are needed to obtain large amounts required to combat OS.

The second ingredient in poga moonga is pomegranate. Pomegranate is a super antioxidant, 3 times more powerful than the antioxidant found in red wine and tomatoes. Antioxidants help in maintaining good cholesterol levels by controlling free radicals. Free radicals are cholesterol, which through oxidation, become harmful to the body. LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) can cause a build up of plaque in the arteries. This build up can lead to clots, which can constrict the flow of blood to the body and brain. This lack of blood flow can lead to heart attacks and strokes. It may also prevent the return of prostate cancer after surgery and can be used for prostate cancer prevention. It also contains a very high concentration of vitamin C and good quantities of vitamin A, E and folic acid. The three main ingredients in pomegranate are Elegiac acid (is a proven anti-carcinogen, anti-mutagen, and anticancer initiator), Anthocyanins (these are a flovonoid pigment that produce the color for the fruit) and Phytoestrogens (a non-nutritive plant chemicals that have protective or disease preventive properties).

After doing a little research about protandim it seems to be very good at providing antioxidants. The ingredients are very good but how effective are they, really? Ingredients are not as effective when they are processed and turned into a hard pill form. Then there’s the ingredients the pills are made from. From my research anything turned into pill form looses its effectiveness because the moisture is removed. Products in a concentrate form are much more effective. Pills are not easily broken down. Your body has to use its own vitamins and minerals to break them down in order to get the benefits you took the pill for in the first place. And their product is pretty expensive just to get antioxidants. It is about $1.40 a day. And another question is where did they get their research for the amounts of antioxidants you need every day. Just like Mona vie is a great source of antioxidants, do we really need that amount of antioxidants every day. I have been taking poga moonga juice (pogamoonmgajuice.com) for 3 months. It contains moringa and pomegranate, which are both great antioxidants. My blood pressure and cholesterol are the lowest they have been in 10 years and stay around the same rate every doctor visit. But more than just antioxidants, poga moonga juice is a true whole food supplement, supplying your body with everything it needs.

I know a person who has gone from 23 diabetes medications to 4 in only 4 months. The moringa, pomegarnate and aloe in poga moonga has reduced his dependence on Pharmaceutical drugs to control his diabetes. He is over 65 years old so age plays no part in maintaining good diabetes health. I would recommend trying it for one month and than get your diabetes checked again by your doctor. Remember, always check with your doctor before taking any medication, even natural products. But as far as I know no one has had any side effects or adverse reactions taking poga moonga along with their prescription drugs. Go to pogamoongajuice.com and check it out

I just made this same comment at some other blog but it might also be helpful here as it addresses the issue of oxidative stress and the 'oxygen paradox' that we face: I recently looked into a company called Eng3 that is combating the effects of oxidative stress and its related diseases through a proven technology called Activated Air. Their site is pretty helpful, here is a link to an interesting blog post: http://www.eng3corp.com/web/2008/10/30/oxygen-paradox-and-oxidative-stress/
