ONCE AGAIN Of the numerous CLINICAL TRIALS examining the use of Dietary Intervention Trials for the prevention of Coronary Heart Disease, NONE, NONE had shown any benefit at all from the use of saturated fat restriction.

In answer to the previous diatribe, my family has been afflicted with Familial Hypercholesterolemia. My beloved father died of a massive heart attack at the age of 37. The autopsy revealed he had been having small heart attacks for several years prior that were passed of as a hiatal hernia. The ME said he had the arteries of a 68 year old man. My uncle died in his early 40's of a heart attack. My aunt is in her sixties and lives (carefully) with the condition, but has many health problems. Two of her daughters are on medication. I don't know what the previous poster is citing when when he claims that a family with diabetes has more problems. I don't personally know any family with more than 1 diabetic. I do know that cholesterol has been a poison in my family.

I somewhat liked it. It was good, but didn't go into what kids eat that might cause high colesterol - I think parents are interested in more down to earth things - like what could they do to help lower their kid's colesterol by making better choices in foods and things like that.
