Mammogram completely missed my invasive lobular cancer probably due to my dense breast tissue. An MRI found the malignant tumor (4.9 cm., which is very large) in my left breast and a benign but also undetected lump in my right breast. Every year I follow up with a MRI and a mammogram. By the way, I am doing well 5 years after a complete mastectomy.
