the guy above is totally right! My child's doctor told me that I should give my infant son additional vitamin D supplements because my nursing isn't giving him enough. Whatever happened to "breast is best"? You are telling me that formula then is better because with my breast I have to give my son supplements. So I looked at what she suggested for supplement and none of them are from a NATURAL source. In fact, she her self stated that I should give the supplement with food because it could cause an upset stomach. Since when does a TRUE VITAMIN from NATURE upset your stomach. It doesn't. She is suggesting I give my child chemicals which I simply won't do. My parents and their parents never had to do this and we all turned out fine.

Give me a break ! Why can't you just admit when something actually works! I take a B50 everyday and have more energy at 55 than my younger boyfriend. Nobody wants to admit that vitamins actually help keep you healthy, because the foods we eat today are stripped of nutrition.

You have to ask yourself if it's really the vitamins that are giving you the energy. Do you also eat health? Do you exercise? Or is it your younger boyfriend? With correct diet and exercise, of course you'd have more energy. Is the vitamin B-5 you take say (Pantothenic Acid)? Just to let you know the source of B-5 you are taking is condensing isobutyraldehyde with formaldehyde. Yes the foods these days are stripped of the nutrition you need but don't be fooled. The vitamins on the market ARE NOT FOOD. I would love to admit that a vitamin works. And the food source vitamin I take (Grown By Nature) does because it comes from food not USP like the B-5 you take. Just imagine how much better you could feel if you took a food source vitamin. I encourage you not to listen to me and do your research. God Bless.

There are certain things you need to take into consideration when buying supplements. #1. Do you need the supplement ? A blood test will let you know if you actually need any vitamins and minerals. #2 Does the formula fit my needs ? Some 1 a day formulas are pathetic because they give you the amounts you need to only prevent deficiencies but not get any additional benefits from the supplement you ingest. The main thing most multi vitamins contain is the B-vitamins, which are really low in some popular ones like Centrum. Like stated, the B-vitamins help you get energy from food but if you choose the wrong product then you may end up assuming that all vitamins are useless.

Hate to disagrre with the Doctor but I take a 1000 mg of B12 daily and it's effect is similiar to having a couple of quad espressos except one can sleep at night.

sure if you eat a balanced meal you should not need vitamins, but the additivies that the great FDA insist be put in our food zaps or blocks the vitamins from doing what they need to do so we do need suplements!

most people do not get enough vitamins and minerals from the food they consume. In addition, many foods are contaminated by pesticides, some destroying their health giving properties. Dr. Margolis has evidently not read the tons of research by eminent biochemists proving the health benefits of certain vitamins and herbs.
