Most "cancer histories of close relatives" are due to environmental causes/bad habits they've encountered or engaged in throughout life. In many cases there's not a genetic link to your illness or disease just the same cycle of bad habits that pass on from one generation to the next. Quit blaming bad genes. Also, it's overexposure to the sun that we should avoid. Don't tell people to avoid exposure to the sun. At least 20 minutes of sun a day is necessary for us. Overexposure to it is what's bad on the eyes and skin. It's allright to remove your sunglasses for a little bit every day and let the sun in. If more people did that, then they wouldn't need a sleeping pill at night to go to sleep. The vaccine that's been approved by the FDA in June 2006 is a farce. Girls who took that vaccine in the trials had bad reactions to it(convulsions, fainting, migraine headaches). You can take folic acid supplements or multivitamins and prevent that virus from occurring in most cases anyway. I'd wait with any new drug or vaccine the FDA touts as safe and effective. Their stamp of approval is usually a red flag to believe and do the opposite. You could've emphasized more points underneath Control Your Weight. Considering that obesity is such a problem, why leave it to a one line statement? Lame. Since people don't Cook Smart, why not emphasize what they are doing wrong besides charring and frying the food? They are doing more than that wrong. Tell them what they could do right or don't you know how to cook smart yourself? You're not very convincing to eat more fruits and vegetables after what you wrote in there. "Whole grain and and fibrous foods probably protect against some types of cancer." Was that shorthand version of it or something? The second line doesn't even suggest anything regarding fruits or vegetables. This is a joke. Do you even eat them yourself? For a population that doesn't eat them, you should've made a stronger case which foods prevented what cancers. You failed immensely bringing the information together in one place to show that there is much we can do to prevent cancer. Disappointing read. Why do I bother to look?

Where does avoiding asbestos removal,avoiding prescription drugs, avoiding aspartame,avoiding pesticides, avoiding x-rays, avoiding chemo therapy, avoiding radiation treatments, avoiding CT scans, avoiding the dentist,and avoiding fish with a high mercury content,fit into the equation doctor? Does any of it matter? Is it anticancerous?

I can't say I'm surprised there's no mention of drinking tea to prevent cancer or that by taking a basic multivitamin reduces most cancers by 20 percent. It seems like it was twisting your arm just to say you should be eating lots of fruits and vegetables. No mention of drinking plenty of water on a daily basis either. Written like someone with a six pack of beer in his left hand and a carton of smokes in his right hand.

#1--Not true. Breast cancer is a gene related cancer. It isn't a disease caused from "bad habits." I've seen it go from Mother to daughter to grandaughter, and none of those people didn't get it from bad habits.

#6: Breast cancer is brought on by too much estrogen in the body. That can be caused by too much hormones being in the meat you consume, by eating and drinking from plastics, hrt, being overweight/obese, a high fat diet, smoking or drinking alcohol, not exercising keeps the estrogen in your body so even if you're thin there are still high unbalanced amounts of estrogen flowing in you. You still have to exercise to get the estrogen out of your body. It isn't just for the overweight. That's a myth. Not eating a proper diet is going to give you cancer. If you think you can push aside healthy food because you have a thin waistline, think again. Those foods work to empty out the excess estrogen from your body. The reason you see it go from mother, to daughter to grandaughter is because they all learned the habits from one another. Not because of a genetic link. Cancer is more environmental than genetic. There can be cases where it's genetic but it is rare. I think our environment has done more damage than anything and our habits. Even the "vaccines" that we give our children have been to our detriment. Everything society clamors after to eat is artificial and microwaved now. Everything is prepackaged and instant. Nothing comes in a glass jar or bottle anymore. It's all from a can or plastic bottle. The environment is killing us and the mindless habits that are accepted as safe are killing all of us.

Thanks for all the tips. However, all these tips pertains to only physical or external causes. Engaging in mental practices such as meditation and yoga would likely help the individuals manage their external problems such as smoking and mindless eating in a better way. I found the strongest natural defense for viruses and prolonging life. It comes from a mushroom and dates back to the beginning of time. Cleaning out toxins in our body has to be the top of of the list for me! The name of the mushroom is chaga. Only available to people in the know or very wealthy. I have more info at chaga.us. usually our doctors don't give tests that are not required. How do I get the HPV for my daughter, an ultrasound as well as a mammogram, or the test that tells I am in a premenpausal state? I feel like I have to find out about these tests on my own and then I have to exagerate all situations to advocate for myself. If I don't request blood work I don't get it done, I haven't had a urine test in 8 years from a doctor. At what age do children have blood drawn annually? My daughter is 10 and my son is 15.

All the evidence suggests that cigars and pipes are only major risk factors for lung cancer if the smoke is INHALED; cigars and pipes are not meant to be inhaled from at all and the vast majority of users do not do it.
As for snuff, apart from a single unreliable paper written 250 years ago, there is ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE that the nasal snuff produced in the EU causes nasal cancer, or indeed any kind of cancer, through proper use.
