Try bio-identical hormones. They are plant based and have to be prescribed by a Doctor.A compounding pharmacy will have to make it up for you.

I believe in some form of hormone replacement therapy... Most Menopause symptoms are not a "natural" phase of life as old school used to believe. We live much longer than women used to, so osteoperosis, early dementia and everything else that can be brought on early for a woman thru menopause makes elder years harder to handle.

I've been using Wild Yam and Primrose Bath Minerals from relaxdepot.com, for a long soak in the tub when the going gets tought. It's a bath prescription created just for women and it really helps.

On the advice of my dr...I have been taking Prenatal vitimins...(used for pregnant women) for about a year now and have no hot flashes or symptoms of menopause problems...also she put me on the pill (Junel Fe 1/20) 5ml, so I would not have any in between bleedings or clotting...periods are still coming but are fairly normal (two days) and no cramps....the catch is you must not have had any chemo or breast cancer...so,combined with a walking excersise program and keeping busy..... I feel great...this may not work for all but be sure to talk with your DR. first...by the way Trader JOe's Market has the best Prenatal Vitimans...Good luck all hope whatever you try works for you..

Exercise, diet and eating healthy along with spplements. I started doing my reading on this early, I believe we can avoid alot of problems if we do our homework. We can stay healthy and fight things before they come.It does take discipline.

I have taken a low dose of prempro for 9 years. I feel so sick all the time. I have experienced vertigo like symtoms for over 2 years. It is so unnerving. I've had thousand of dollars worth of tests done. I wake up every 2 hours with hot flashes. I have pressure on my ears a lot. All the doctors I have seen can't help me. Will I ever get over this menopause? I am 58 years old.

The comments on this page were the least helpful of any I have read - really lame.

I have a glass of soy milk each day and that helps with hot flashes and irritableness and sleep.I prefer a brand that has potassium also.

I have had partilly Hysterctomy & the Overies were left in place & i'm still having problems with my really bad mood swing. Before i had went in for my Hysterctomy i had a bleeding cyst on my right overiey and i was given birthcontrol pills for it & it had seemed to help &now it feels like it is back what should i do? Will need to have my overies taken out? I had talked to my Family Doctor & he says that i'm premenopausal & the OBGYN that i see says that i'm not. I was not put on any replacement therapy or anything is it possibly for the bleeding cyst to return?

i'd like to find out if there is any relation to menopause and vertigo and hormone replacement therapy. I started menopause around 48 years old tried alternative holistic therapies but nothing stopped the unbearable hot flashes til I started HRT. I took low doses of estradial and progestin and felt great. Then my doctor told me it would be a good idea to wean myself off of them because I'd been using them for about 8 years and with all the publicity about the side effects , etc. It wasn't long before I started having hot flashes again and then started experiencing horrible sometimes debilitating dizziness or vertigo. I'm 57 years old and have been dealing with this since I quit HRT. Anybody else have similar symptoms?? Should I go back to HRT?

this is not a comment but a question. I was 45 years old when all my reproductive organs was taken out completely, after this i was already taking hormones replacement - CONJUGATED ESTROGEN PREMARIN 300mcg for two years already. My question is: what are the risks of taking hormones replacement and should i take it for how long? Or should i stop taking it? Thank you.
