I believe that the FDA should fund clinical trials for any such product and supplement. Energy drinks. Marijuana, regardless of its legality, as there is a study stating that it may help with dementia but more research is needed but how can they get funding to research this if the government has marked it as illegal? Where do our prescription drugs come from? Plants... the same ones that are in supplements. Now not all supplements are legitimate, but there legitimate ones. My point here is the FDA should test and regulate ALL products because supplements CAN and WILL affect medications.

Just because one company is bad it doesn't mean that all supplements are bad. Do the research and you won't be taken

yes there are unfair folks with fake claims BUT there ARE good reputable companys selling supplements (vitamins & minerals) that ARE good. intellegent people who are serious about their supplements do their homework & become well researched in what they chose. thank you

Sounds like the present day political scene: "Pitchmen (Pundits) will go to great lengths--that is, tell barefaced lies--to sell their products (Propaganda). Many people (we might say "suckers") believe the gimmick enough to purchase the products (talking points)." Maybe we need to put the FDA in charge of the FCC.

Yes there ARE scams out there. Everyone who wants to make quick money will make bogus claims even in Jesus' name. But please don't be fooled to think that drugs (artifical chemicals) can cure disease. I'm not fooled by the supplement scare anymore. I also beleive that our bodies can only be healed by replenishing with pure natural substances which was what we were made of in the first place.ARTIFICIAL CHEMICALS CANNOT HEAL THE HUMAN BODY. NO MATTER WHAT THE FDA SAYS!

I have very little sympathy for anyone who is so desperate to meet a socially superficial stereotype that they would circumvent a doctors prescription, nor so much as ask a doctor for product information/recommendation. People shun online dating for shallow and often unfounded fears. Why would they buy medicines of any kind, legit or not, without a prescription and without those same fears? Black market drugs are bad... and the buyer beware of THAT.

The only thing that doctors are recommended to take is the pharmaceutical drug. Forget the natural remedy. It does not make money for the drug companies.

now lets see. food is full of vitamins and minerals. people do not eat diets to fulfill the nutritional needs of their bodies. so you can take vitamins and minerals to supplement the diet. there has even been tons of research on vitamin C , (Linus Pauling noble prize winner), and its benefit to our bodies as well as many other vitamins, minerals and herbs.this article, while true in targeting dishonest business practices, is not too up to date in regards to nutrition and nutritional supplements. the guy who wrote it is an m.d.trained in drug therapy, now lets see, do drugs always work without harm? need i say more.the proof is in the pudding. if your life is on the line, you go to the emergency room. other than that the choice is yours, at least for now.

Ok, this has to be the most rediculous article yet today. People have a better chance at reducing the risk or preventing an illness with supplements than with a freaking chemical like prescriptions or vaccines. So something to work with the body can not say "prevent", and has no side effects nor causes death, but here from the flu ad this was in there ."You can help prevent the flu by getting the flu vaccine every year. " This stupid vaccine will kill more people then the flu will and it says to prevent.....duh stop with the vaccines and prescriptions.....its killing us and causes ill effects to the generations to come.

I do believe in natural remedies, though. I use and have studied herbal medicines. I treat my headaches with chamomile tea, and it works. Here is a simple medical truth: All prescription medicines (at least until recently) are made from herbs and natural produce. Prescription medicines are typically the same herbal medicines of the traditional world - merely purified, condensed, concentrated, and perhaps mixed with combinations of other drugs just the same. Prescription medicines of the modern world work only because herbal medicines work. The difference is how strong the medicines are and how focused their affects are designed to be. Aside from that, herbals DO work. They always have. Modern medicine wouldnt exist without it.

I would like to hear from a unbiased, third party professional which supplements are worth the money for just improving your overall health. That isn't too much to ask, is it?

This quack is a fountain of misinformation. I like to know who pays him. He has probably 30 hours of nutritional background and just because he has a MD, Ph.D I'm to believe he is the expert in nutrition. Last I checked dinosaurs did not study nutrition. he posts "(Federal law prohibits claims that a dietary supplement can treat, cure, or prevent a specific disease or class of diseases.)" not mentioning that this was the same FDA that approves your life saving drugs like VIOXX and not to mention other drugs as well that contributed to many deaths. What he fails to mention it has been the medical profession that has had a strangle hold on the word "cure" and with the help of the pharmaceutical companies they have managed to buy it through the FDA. For example if you have scurvy and I tell you start eating oranges (Vitamin C) although this is the cure for scurvy, I can be put to jail for suggesting that it can cure you because I am practicing medicine ( only a medicine can cure) even though the orange is considered food, now how that is Ludicrous and that's what I mean by strangle hold. I am not suggesting that Techmedica is right but you can't lump sum every supplement and vitamin and say it does not work. I read this guys Bio. no where does it say he studies nutrition, his background is research in pathology. He needs to relearn his physiology before he can understand pathology.

What makes our damn government so damn special that they get all his earnings? How about giving it back to the people, cause we all know we already do enough as far as supporting our government, the world is full of scams, and because the government does not understand that they are there for the people. So like I said why does the government get the money? Go Obama, Obama who?
