Amazing, my symptoms exactly. I'm wondering if this may be a associated with my Psoriasis and jaw inflamation from TMJ. Very interesting read, maybe going on Humira like the derm suggests will help more than the psoriasis.

I broke my calcaneus [heel/foot] and ankle about 6 months ago. surgery was required for reconstruction. 7 screws in the foot and two in the ankle. I am in pt 3 times per week, but still have heal and ankle pain. my pt comented that I could have planter fascitis as a result of my injury. What are your thoughts.

I had this same problem as described in this article.I suffered for approximately 18 months .American Doctors could only give something for pain ,,,not a real cure.,,You can do better than I did by ,,,not going for traditional american doctor treatment ,,,,instead seek out a CHINESE Doctor that uses acpunctiture and a herbal tea for your treatment ,,,,after a couple of months the pain and the problem will have gone away.... thank you ,,,,and by the way ,,,do not knock it until you have tried it ,,,and also this type of treatment has been affect for 5,000 years ,,,,while only about 200 years ago American doctors bled a president to death..

best are custom made orthodotics. I did many of the above treatments, but nothing worked till I went to the top guy for orthodics and wore them religiously for over a year. Now my feet are almost perfect... if I am in other shoes for a few days, I can feel a pull .. .so back to my orthodics I go. Try it..

I have had this type of heel pain for 2 years. I was almost crawling on the floor due to pain in the mornings! By the end of the day, I could hardly walk or stand, but if I sat long, I suffered more upon standing! I started wearing Croc, and Croc style shoes! NOT the Walmart/Target brands. The cushion, and stretching while I walk/stand, has made it almost completely go away. I get it back, slightly, if I have to wear regular shoes. I recently took a week long vacation, in San Francisco, walking up and down the streets, LONG hours, everyday! NOT ONE PAIN! You can say it doesn't work, but try it...it's not as expensive as orthotics and special shoes, and not invasive, such as surgery! IF it doesn't work, you have all the other options!

Started getting pain after installing hard floors in my home. Used to walk barefoot all the time at home, on the carpet, but I think problems started from walking barefoot on the hard floor. Try to wear sandals around the house, but will switch to athletic or other supportive shoes around the house now. Thanks for the great article.

Any consideration that neuropathy should be described and discussed as well so patients can avoid self-diagnosing? It is a condition that causes lower extremity pain and tingling/numbness in the distal nerves - toes/feet. Unaddressed, neuropathy may lead to eventual amputation of toes, feet, legs.

i had 2 rounds of shots in the heels with no long term relief. i then went to the chiropractor, whom, after a couple adjustments to the lower bach(the L-5 area) my heel pains went away. these nerves run from the spine, the lenght of the leg to the feet. i was diagnosed by my regular GP and an orhtopediac specialist as having the plantar. this may be a good alternative to try.

Kicking mud off your feet on a concrete or wood step (edge) will also cause this problem. I know personally NOT to do this after having done so. And having tot get cortisone injections (twice) to help with the healing process.
