Although the conflict of interest is worrisome, it is obviously more likely that a researcher would gain funding for a project if the funding source could stand to benefit from the results. It is the ethical responsibility of the researchers to report exactly what the study's findings were and not only what would benefit them or the company that funds them.

Can we trust the newspaper? Can we trust all of our doctors? What about results from animal testing? There are so many different studies going on and so many conflicting results, I don't stress over experts anymore. Just my opinion.

I still would prefer the study results...at least I have the opportunity to Read, and foundate my own opinion, the study based on it;s contents, unlike reports... i see no problem with this type research... it should be very clear that a bias is evident ...based on the studies conclusion...its like an defense argument...the goal is to prove a single, or number of evident cercumstances - based on the available evidence... I think to some extent all sutdies are biased - its the auther of the study that has to answer for his facts, or like of - as it be.

I don't trust all medical journals. You don't know for sure who's writing them or where THEY'VE gotten THEIR information from. I am lucky enough to have a doctor I trust implicitly. He researches using sources he trusts, as well as using his own experience to diagnose problems. It's hard to tell if journals are on the money, or if they only supply OPINIONS of the authors writing it. It can be confusing!!!!!! EEEGADDS!!!

NO. In the context of the decade long efforts of the fbi/cia to cause suffering and death of some Targets ( ostensibly by presumed 'natural causes' in many instances ) the reader may consider additional evidence regarding the manufacture of a kidney stone in my person as I have documented at. http://www.sosbeevfbi.com/part16-updatefor.html From: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3924373?ordinalpos=8&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum "Calcium oxalate bladder stones were induced in male rats" From: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12149569 "However, binding of HA and BR crystals to, and their subsequent enclosure within, actively growing CaOx crystals might occur in vivo, thereby explaining the occurrence of mixed oxalate/phosphate stones."

Now, this article I could stand up and cheer about! almost everyone is getting kickbacks these days, and making a profit one way or another off of sleep disorders, etc. Even the "non-profit" organizations are taking huge "grants" from the drug companies, so we must always check our sources, even if it is the New England Journal of Medicine.
