I would have found this article more useful if it provided information about the blood glucose levels. What level (e.g. 130, 110, 90 mg/dl were considered to be the goals of the standard vs intensive groups. Is it dangerous for someone with type 2 to get below 80 mg/dl? My own blood glucose level has never been measures outside the 80 - 100 range, but I have friends with type 2 and am curious what the danger level is during treatment.

I have never appreciated people being into two groups. One on a good line to better health and the on the wrong line so as to affect their health. While the information was rather ok it was not complete. My mother controlled her diabetes for most of her life and lived to be 95.
