I fully agree, but it's going to be difficult concidering the fact that it is in everything, Soda, Chips, Cookies, and much more junk food. So either we have to stop eating so much junk food, which is fully reccomended anyway, or we will see much consequence later on in life.

Microwave popcorn!!! Love it, but I know how much sodium is hiding in those little kernels. It is definetely something I try to cut down on along with processed meats, like smoked ham or other types. We also need to drink more water to undo whatever indication of water retention as a result of too much sodium intake. Good information!

How can one possibly eat an egg or a potato without salt? The bitter truth is, that many foods are totally bland without a dash or two of salt. Why aren`t the food experts working on a tasteful salt substitute instead of suggesting that a sprinkling of a herb and spice mixture replace salt on the food we eat.

Since the time of Christ, salt is already used for cooking and I don't know if there are records of high blood pressure. Food is unpalatable without salt. Just use everything in moderation. At best, they must try to competively find a healthy substitute for salt.

As we are aware that Salt intake more than the normal quantity, usually raises Blood Pressure (Hypertention), which is the main cause specially for strokes, heart attacks and kidney diseases, I suggest, we better advise our family members, relatives, friends and others in educational institutions, as well as in work places, not to increase the intake of Salt gradully in our daily life, since we know "Prevention is better than cure."

I grew up eating lots of salt and like someone said its an addiction--lower your intake and your taste for it will gradually decrease. I can't stop eating salty foods but I do try to eat as natural as possible and use other things besides salt for flavor. To boost flavor I use garlic sal
