What about lifting weights for 45min, doing various body part work outs with varying degrees of weight. (Chest, Shoulders, Back Abbs etc)

Lucy, there are 3500 calories per pound of body fat. In order to lose just one pound of stored fat we need to burn off 3500 extra calories. So how does burning 500 calories a day result in 2 pounds of weight loss?

Just don't eat like a pathetic pig, and you'll lose more than that.

This would have been a great post if not for the "Levels". What are they talking about? I understand that it is how strenuous your workout is but what I consider a level 7 is going to be the next persons level 4. This needs to be put in very generic terms where it will be the same workout and same effect for everyone. This post hold no relevance to me at all because of the completely arbitrary "levels".

A little misleading. A 45 minute spin class usually burns between 300-400 calories.

the article says it is ways to lose 2 pounds without spending your life at the gym, but ALMOST EVERY activity is stuff you do at the gym ! sounds pretty misleading to me !

you might want to mention to check with a doctor first; you also might want to mention for those who have NOT been working out consistently this might be to advance for someone to do pull off doing an hour of cardio. Also maybe break up the article to advance, intermediate and beginning levels... "lose 2 pounds a week or less (that may sound slow, but you can drop a size in a month this way and keep it off). " It is recommended to lose 1-2 pounds a week..don't make a 2 pound weight loss sound small..it is not. Maybe have a certified fitness trainer write this article...
