You want to "tone up", loose bodyfat to the point where existing muscle is visible, crash diets will melt existing muscle and will make you skinny fat (thin but flabby muscles)

That had to be about the most useless set of exercise 'tricks' I have seen in oh.............2 days? The few that are useful aren't even tricks..just common sense. Those would be planning your training session ahead of time and starting things with the larger muscles groups of the lower body. Past that, anyone interested in learning why crunches and similar movements are useless and most likely downright harmful....read the work of Dr. Stuart McGill. Sorry to vent but I have seen so much misinformation(such at the 'study' on the health risks of eating red meat; try not to throw up or laugh after you read the parameters of the actual 'study') and overreaction this week I finally gave in and had to say something. So much for responsible journalism anymore.

these are very good..........especially the mental suggestions, #'s 7 and 11. right up there with 'how bad do you really want it?", "don't hurt yourself", and "don't leave your family and friends in the dust in your pursuit of physical perfection."

My keys to success have been drinking plenty of water, eating a good breakfast EVERY morning (egg whites, oatmeal, fruit), doing cardio every day, getting plenty of sleep and taking a multi vitamin supplement .. The results have been amazing !!
