I have found that these tips certainly help but if you're like me - a mother of three, career women, soccer mom, devoted wife, chef, maid etc.....you know the routine. There was no time for me to concentrate on dieting until I got www.youstripfat.com diet plan. It's really cool you can create a custom diet plan based on choices you make of the foods you like. then you can print shopping lists and meal plans to support your weight loss goals. I have lost 20 lbs and going strong. Take Care, Shelley

i strongly disagree on the stretching bit, where even though slightly accurate, most endurance runners stretch after doing a light jogging warm-up. At that point, trust me, it makes a huge difference. but hey upper-level collegiate runners dont know much

Static stretching has been proven to weaken muscles. Kinesiologists recommend jumping and jogging to get to around 30% of your heart rate up for blood flow and stretch after working out.

Any piece of info can be helpfull, Ive been a personal trainer for 15 years and I stick with 2 simple thoughts and they are. A body in motion will stay in motion. And a body at rest will stay at rest. So get of the sofa and stay moving.. And the last thing to ask yourself is. Do you live to eat or do you eat to live!!!

"You can't lose weight by swimming". Okay, technically it's a myth. However, the triathlete example is a very poor one. Triathletes run and bike. Running and swimming have two different effects on the appetite. Running, in general stunts your appetite. Swimming, in general, makes you ravenous. RAVENOUS!!! Yes, colder water makes you even more ravenous! So, my point is - if you are just swimming and have weight to lose, it's going to be tough. Get out on the road and run! Now, onto the myth about burning more calories in chilly weather. Whether its true or not, who cares? Get out in that cold! Forget the boring treadmill. Take your music on the road. You are going to work harder outdoors. It just happens. Get out there, get whatever sun you can, within reason, during the winter months. You'll get the vitamin D production you need and will feel much more "kick ass"!

When your body gets used to an exercise, you'll burn fewer calories doing it. IF you stay the same weight...correct...but if I start a workout regimine and I run 4 miles and weigh 300lbs, I'll burn FAR MORE calories than when I've been doing 4 miles a year later and weigh 200lbs. So...yes your body does become used to an exercise if weight is taken into account. If you stay 300lbs...sure...same calorie burn.... You'd think the basic advice should be for ppl trying to lose weight...not already fit ppl.
