Just bought this work out last week on video - and my husband and I tried it last night - it is a challenge...and we both are in good shape in our late 20's.

Why would you feel bad about watching TV as you do your cardio...this makes no sense to me.

there is nothing 'secret' about these suggestions... they are merely common sense 'tips' but certainly no secret. And why should good health tips be 'secret' anyway?? The only thing that is going to help you lose weight is wanting it badly enough, so you will be motivated to continue with proper exercise and eating habits. If you aren't really up to it, then you aren't going to stick with it, no matter how many pedicures and magazines you reward yourself with.

Can you be a little less blatant in your ads for your "SELF" magazine? If you truly wanted to help people, you wouldn't add all these self promoting parts.

I find it helpful to mentally impose low standards on my workouts. Instead of telling myself I need to workout for an hour, I just convince myself to do a quick 10-15 minute run and then maybe a few pushups or a few sets with weights. This really helps me get off my butt and start the workout. Alot of the time, once I get moving, I do a decent workout. Even if I do keep the workouts short, this method helps we workout frequently, which is a good thing. I find that even just a 15 minute jog 5 times a week is worlds better than doing no exercise at all. For achieving general fitness and health, I would hypothesize that the first several minutes of exercise are the most beneficial and then you get dimishing returns as you add time to your workouts.

How do you discipline yourself to go to the gym or go to workout, when their is no one to help you? I use to work out everyday for two hours and I would roller skate once a week to keep slim but at the young age of 56 I find it hard to go and do the things that I need to do. If I can at least get started then I might be able to loose the 40 pounds I want to loose. What can I do and where or who can I turn to for help, I work three jobs and have very few friends please help . Butch.

Thank you all for your helpful advice but I have tried all of that, By me working so late at night and getting home to only sleep for 3 to 4 hours and then going to my other 2 jobs its very hard to do anything.I only have time to eat late at night and then go right to sleep. I have about 1 to 2 hours a week to spend time with my son, and by the time I get back home from picking him up I am out of it. Is there a home work out that I can do everyday just for a few minuets a day? ? ? Butch
