My co-worker was demonstrating the exercises as I read the instructions and she approves. So, I approve. I still like getting my 2 mi on the treadmill, and working my machines for about 45 - 50 mins.

I could never understand why people would be on a treadmill for an hour just basically walking. I've always used this technique, higher intensity with less time. Good article. Maybe it will wake some people up and out of there mind numbing walks on a treadmill.

This is called interval training. It's great. I basically do this every other day and accompany this w/ circuit training in the days I don't do the intervals. Great workout for 20 mins.

Pictures were needed for the fast firmer exercises. Some of them are hard to visualize.

The sprinting after 2 minutes of warm-up is an effective way to get injured. Try that when your muscles are tight and you're 35 years old, yeah, injury for sure.

This is a must if you are a long time exerciser that has hit a plateau or has not seen results from doing the same 60 minutes on the treadmill, x-trainer or bike. As another comment mentioned this is a high intensity system but even beginneras or people with a history of cardiovascular disease can use the intervals at their own intensity or perceived exertion levels.

We all have different metabolisms. So, i have learned what works great for me does not work great for someone else. Saying that, i have had great results with these faster workouts for burning fat! I feel it has sped my metabolism up alot! Good luck to all of you on here! Eat healthy and train hard! I also learned that if you tell yourself your trimming down while working out it actually happens. Mind over matter, lol! Happy Holidays!

sounds a lot like some stuff I've wrote numerous times. Just not as precise or effective. You have to build up. You can hurt someone telling them to sprint for 30 seconds. Start off doing 40 yards for sets of 8. then jump to 60 yards for sets of 8, then jump to 100s for sets of 8. If you want to steal my blogs at least do it right. 30 seconds is over 220 yards. You are really going to hurt someone like that.

Sprinting after 2 min of warm-up is an effective way to pull a hamstring. If your muscles are tight and you have a desk job, yeah, injury for sure.
