it seems like these articles are aimed at women. as if men don't care about living healthy. i wanted to send an article to my dad because he's been gaining weight, and i suspect it's because he hasn't been sleeping well. guess i'll look for a more relevant article....

Instead of eating a meal before bed, which would obviously contribute to someone's weight gain, try taking a 100 mg dosage of pure 5HTP, which will significantly raise seratonin levels without the calories. 5HTP is derived from the amino acid L-tryptophan, the agent in turkey that makes everyone so groggy after Thanksgiving dinner. You can also buy L-tryptophan in 500 and 1000 mg dosages, but most people find 5HTP to be most sufficient.

Furthermore, without adequate sleep, your body produces more of the hormone ghrelin, which is a hormone that causes your body to increase appetite and body mass. Your body also produces less leptin, a hormone that regulates that "full feeling". It's not rocket science. Shoot for 7-8 hours.

I found this information so useful! It is so true! I have been getting little sleep and it has compromised in my moral judgement. I am able to realize all this towards the end of the day! I am so stressed out. I do tend to eat more as well! I am gonna definately try to relax and sleep in more when possible! I have 3 kids so it will be a challenge! Thanks!

Carb-based meal before bed? What about that new study that just came out saying that low carb diets cause you to lose more weight than a low fat diet? If you have that much trouble getting to sleep I think there are other solutions that don't involve eating.
