Veggies do absolutely NOTHING to curb hunger for me. I eat them in addition to a meal with healthy carbs and lean protein. This way I have extra volume in my stomach to make the too-small "healthy portions" make me feel full. They're healthy, yes, but if I ate a whole meal of veggies, they'd tear my stomach up and I'd be hungry a half hour later.

And let's not forget that "healthy" fruit smoothies have sugars in them that diabetics may not be able to handle. Fructose is different than sucrose but it still can make the blood sugars rise...so diabetics must be careful. And using yogurt? OMG have you seen the sugar content in those??????? I eat Dannon Light and Fit with no added sugar, so its very low in sugar. These "diet tips" need to keep in mind that not everyone can follow them, especially diabetics and those who need to limit salt...one tip had the author saying she likes spinach with a little salt (not very healthy).

I thought you were supposed to get 5 servings and 1 serving is 1/2 cup (excluding leafy veggies like lettuce). Doesn't she say 5 cups? that would be 10 servings no? Maybe I'm wrong.

MLF this is not a venue for advertising. As far as the article goes, vegetables, unless eaten in very large potions, do little to curb hunger since they are very low in calories. Your body needs fat and calories to overcome hunger.

yuck! This might work for a girl looking to go from 140 lbs to 105, but for a guy like me who needs 2800 cal to maintain my muscle, it's not practical to eat mainly vegetables. We're not herbivores.
