In order to complement the positive effects of meditative hypnosis, I highly recommend the following unique FREEWARE program (the "Virtual Light & Sound Machine" Meditation Software) that effortlessly induces DEEP MEDITATIVE states, via the phenomenon of audio-visual stimulation... FREE DOWWLOAD! http://www.ThePsychologist.com/virtuallightandsound.htm I also recommend trying one of these low-cost/no-cost instant hypnosis audio downloads for stress and anxiety: http://www.simplifiedhealth.com/hypnotapes.htm Psychologist Jerry Solfanelli

Mediation is not about "doing nothing", you have some object you meditate on either physical or mental level, so the physical body remains motionless to allow the mind to focus on something without interruption, otherwise we always keep repeating the same "doing something" routines endlessly and call it an achievement. Mediation is more difficult than physical work for most people that is why most can't even do it. In general you get some better understanding from meditation and if you progress you can penetrate into subtle levels that most people can't get to -- call it an achievement.

I think the way you put it,"no Om required!" shows your psyche and your prejudice to other cultures...remember, you article could have done without that sentence...Therefore, I think you need a good introspection with a good meditation session... god bless...

I wish she'd have specified that your "during your commute" should not include driving your car? At that time you should be focused on one thing only... DRIVING.

This is crap. Raising your eyebrows is helping to alleviate stress? This is just something to help someone to sell a book. It takes a lot more than this to help ypu in today's society.

Meditation is great! It has done wonders for me. If you have a busy schedule I recommend meditating before going to bed. Everyone has to go to bed at some point so there is no excuse then! If you need tools to help you meditate I recommend anything from MUSIC FOR DEEP MEDITATION. Check them out in iTunes or Amazon. :)

These techniques are all good for relaxing. In addition, they can be a path to your Spirit Self. Quieting your mind (no words/thoughts, just blank) will give space in your conscious brain for communication from the Creator of ALL things. This demands being in a quiet place, with a quiet brain, then focusing on the center of your forehead where all communication from the Creator begins. I wrote a book about Spirituality called: "Spirit Flight--A Personal Guide to the Secrets of Heaven and Immortality". Contact me for a copy: spiritualguide_2007@yaho.com
