Edamame is not fit for human consumption IMHO.

This may just be me but I could care less if I eat a processed food occasionally or meat and it is more carbon producing then say veggies. Now not only are we expected to be healthy and slim but save the planet too.

Nice article -- draws on two areas that concern us the most about the food we eat; its impact on our health and on the planet. Though hardly an expert, I might differ with you for two reasons on the edamame. One, soy farming is now responsible for much of the destruction of the Amazon and other tropical forests. Though much of that soy goes straight into food additives, still some helps meet the demand for tofu, tempeh, edamame, soy milk, etc. And two, because soy has some phytoestrogenic qualities, I do believe women should be careful how much soy they consume.

Love OatMeal, but cannot eat it as I am Celiac Sprue, and it tears me up if I eat it, plus all those other things that are supposed to be good for you. So many have gluten in them, you have to eat from scratch, no boxed stuff, as most put some type of barley malt in them and that is a no no for me.

to be slim it must be a very hard work and decision, i had been trying to be one but for a score of ten i only achieve four, i'm wondering when i can really be slim, though i still look good with the belts i'm using. i've tried to minimize my food intake especially rice and sugar but it really don't work with me.

Eat fruits and Veggies, drink water and 30 minutes of vigerous cardio exercise every day. Eat small meals more often with the majority being of the above and cut out fast and processed foods. Get back to nature to look like Adam and Eve!

It's true about the rolled oats. Most mornings I have 1/2 cup oatmeal laced with 1 T flax seed meal, 1 T agave nectar, 1 t cinnamon and about 8 walnut halves chopped slightly. Yum, plus I stay full for about 4 hours.

Yeah I'm sure Al Gore follows all this crap! If I want to watch a little tv while I eat, I will with no guilt. I bet Al Gore doesn't feel any guilt or worry about "Global Warming oh sorry, "Climate Change" when he is jetting around or living in his big estate. He also sure looks like he's enjoying his food!! Stop telling the middle hard-working class how to lower their lifestyles to please the liberal elite.

How come all these healthy tips never acknowledge the people who are allergic to peanuts and soy?! I guess those people just eat unhealthy right?
