Most of these suggestions are great. However, during flu season, I would be careful about responding to e-mails face to face. Make sure your colleague is not suffereing from a cold or flu or you may end up catching it.

let's stop writing article's of what we can 'individually' do at work and start making strides towards two manditory ten minute exercise/stretch breaks per day throughout every office. it is scientifically proven that sitting for eight hours a days is something our bodies are not wired for. but, somehow, we forget how to fix the problem?

A mid-day working? Really? In what universe do I have time for a mid-day workout? Sorry boss, I'm gonna need 5min to change, 10min warmup, 30min workout, 10min shower, 5 min to change and when the hell do I actually eat lunch in there? I guess I'll just take a 2hr lunch break. No one will care that I'm not actually WORKING! I agree with bringing your own lunch/snacks, and never touching the candy bowl, but serious? Seriously? A mid-day workout. Come back to reality some time.

I wish these articles would quit telling people to stop by my office and respond to my email in person. Sorry, I have work to do and a schedule to keep. I can't keep dropping what I'm working on to talk about the email. Besides, responding to an email in person results in 5 mins of work and 15 minutes of chitchat. BAD advice.

Yet another silly "article" full of pseudo-advice! Not even going to discuss whether everyone should have showers or at leas tsome privacy in the restroom at work to freshen up after the suggested mid-day cardio. I resolve to exercise my mind more and stop reading these scribbles after being lured to them by catchy leads.

Maybe this should be called "How to Significantly Increase Work Related Overhead." I mean seriously, answer e-mails in person? I am sure every boss will just love that loss in productivity.

The worst thing you could do was answer an email in person. One it stops productivity and if it was work related which 100% of the time it was you will destroy the paper trail (I worked in a finance department. It all counts if legal or IRS becomes involved). Most importantly it makes no sense if I wanted to speak to a person I would not send an email to begin with.

I need for every person who I send an email to come and talk to me, in person, first thing in the morning like I need a hole in the head. Mid-day workout? Joy in Seattle said it all.
