No magic bullet. Hard work, dedication, and mental toughness will help you break through your weight issues. Like all good things, this will take some time. But be patient, do research on nutrition and effective exercise techniques, and be consistent in your workout regiment. Just take it one day at a time and realize it's a marathon, not a sprint.

I enjoyed the article. Would have liked it more had it applied to (or been written to include) men as well.

Time? Really? Time? During the school year, I make breakfast for the kid & I, rush to get her to class on time, rush to get me to work, then rush to pick her up, barely get dinner done before it's time for her to go to bed, then it's 1/3hr of violin, and I need to do laundry, dishes, take a shower, and take care of the pets before I crash. I am so sick of non-single mothers acting like there is actually time... sure, on the weekends. And I do. But not during the work week. I already do 14hr days.

"Better yet, pop in a workout video (find great ones at Self.com) and make the time you spend in front of the tube really count for something." LMAO - people aren't watching TV just cause they like to have the TV on and will enjoy a workout video as much as an episode of their favorite show. That has to be the stupiest thing I've ever read.

Here's another suggestion, maybe your gym like mine has television screens in front of the cardio machines. I usually will sit down on the stationary bike or treadmill or epliptical and burn through an episode of Bones. (Insert your fave here) It makes the time go so fast; I also agree about the in home machine.

There is an aerobics portion of The 10 Buck Training Methods from 10 Buck Fitness that highlights an aerobic technique called H.I.I.T. It's an advanced technique that can improve your aerobic results by (some say) UP TO 50% inthe SAME period of time- SURPRISED it's not mentioned in this article. It stands for High Intensity Interval Training- which is basically a 30 second "sprint" on every 5 minute mark, then back to your regular pace, whatever aerobic activity you're performing. It has worked GREAT for me. and the weightlifting portion of their programs are even more effivcient at SAVING TRAINING TIME! Highly recommended.
