I agree with this one 100%: BAD ADVICE: Fruit and veggies are free foods! I did Weight Watchers for a long time, and they have some fruit and veggies that are considered "free" and of course the main thing in your mind is..oh..they are free..which means I can eat the whole bag...hahha..nope not the case. I also noticed that I was only losing .5 lb a week...not sure what was going on...and never really stuck to that diet. Then I switched over to Spark People, and there you count EVERYTHING, even those once "Free" fruits and veggies now have calories...that was where I was going wrong the whole time. So instead of losing .5 lb a week..I now lose 1-2 lbs a week...all because I counted my calories for veggies and fruit!!

Lol Clarabell, you are absolutely right. Nutrition comes first before weight loss. How are you going to tell me that eating 5-9 servings of fruits and vegies are going to make me fat? Also I disagree with the first one about eating a variety of foods. This author is stupid, you are suppose to eat a variety of foods throughout the day that's nutritious. You don't want to eat 3 apples a day and 4 servings of broccoli, you want to eat a variety of fruits and vegies and complex carbohydates, plus lean healhty sources of protein. Could you imagine eating chicken at every meal?

I must say, as an experienced fitness consultant and the owner of my own fitness studio...I've rarely seen good advice such as this posted on Yahoo or any other major news outlet or search engine. This is very sound advice given, not the same old " calories in/out " tired old argument. Just common sense, eat natural unprocessed food that won't make your pancreas send out a flood of insulin. Good work!

What terrible advice. Eating a variety of foods and portion control are two different things. Go back for seconds? Moderation is a habit.

These are all very good tips. The key is to just eat smart and use common sense. And if you are into energy drinks, stay away from all those BAD energy drinks. Be smart. I like Acai Berry as the #1 rated super food. Even Oprah rated Acai berry #1 in a recent O magazine article. And if you want the best energy drink that contains acai berry... look at eFusjon Energy Club for an energy drink that's finally good for you, not like all those other energy drinks that people know are bad. Check us out... www.myefusjon.com/Ellingson23 Finally, an energy drink that's GOOD for you.
