THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING ARTICLE. I DO DRINK 2 CUPS OF COFFEE EVERY MORNING AND MY HEALTH IS RELATIVELY GOOD, CONSIDERING I AM 74 YEARS OLD. I SOMETIMES HAVE 2 MORE IF WE GO OUT IN THE EVENING FOR DINNER. BUT I CANNOT DRINK IT PAST 7:30 P.M. OR I WILL BE AWAKE ALL NIGHT. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING ME I AM NOT HURTING MYSELF, BUT, RATHER AM HELPING MYSELF AND THAT MAKES ME FEEL VERY GOOD.

Interesting. It would be even better if your "cups" of coffee were equated to mg of caffeine since I am sure my dark roast espresso contains much more caffeine (and other antioxidants, etc.) than your mild roast auto drip.

what about the fact that the french press can raise your cholesterol levels? is that really true? and how about people with anxiety? all of these benefits sound great, but are they realistic for everyone?

Drinking FOUR or MORE cups of coffee. You got to be kidding me. My dad drank coffee every day for years. He ended up with Alzheimers. You must be lobbying for a coffee contract. JP

Typical... Headline says "Drink More Coffee". Author mentions her "certified java junkie" status yet only two of her nine points mention polyphenols and/or antioxidants that are specific to COFFEE. Q to author: What about tea, darlin'?

This is sadly misleading information. Someone with hypertension should most emphatically NOT be drinking coffee and they could easily be mislead by your information. If the coffee beans aren't organic, you are really getting a lot of pesticide which does cause cancer. There are many more reasons to argue against coffee. People will say anything to justify their habits.

It is my understanding that dark roast, which is my favorite, has slightly less caffiene as a result of longer roasting. A typical serving of expresso has 1/3 less the caffeine of an average cup of coffee. We simply tend to drink more espresso at a sitting.
