It's always great to read how one can help him/herself with these problems. There seem to be so many new ways that I find that really help me. Thank you!

a lot if this stuff sounds bogus. i like watching sitcoms but I don't know anyone that watches tv and is actively laughing so much that they are burning enough calories to overcome the snack attack that is triggered by the commercials that air during the show. Plus spicy foods might boost metabolism but they also stimulate the brain and result in over eating. I doubt that the meta boost makes up for the second or third servings that the spices induce.

Most of this is basic, but I like seeing it in writing.

Most misleading introduction ever. The article was linked from the Yahoo! homepage as 'How watching TV can help you burn calories.' This is blatantly false, which is confirmed in the article. The objective is not to increase the amount of television watched, but to change the composition of the programs watched so that it will not be such a disaster. This definitely has to be introduced 'How watching DIFFERENT television programs can help you burn calories.' Quite simply, watching TV alone cannot do that.

Television is so droll and lifeless how anybody can even stand to bat an eye at the crap that they show is beyond me. I'd rather get a more fitful laugh out of reading a book or having a fun conversation with my husband.

Where does she get her info? I have had naturally high metabolism my whole life and have been thin my whole life. I don't have to avoid sugar. As a matter of fact, I pretty much each whatever I want. And I don't exercise because I don't have time and I don't enjoy doing it. I know lots of people that are thin like me and eat whatever they want and never exercise. She should not have her own column if she doesn't know how to do research
