Well, a few people at my gym work out every night of the week, but they are still porky. But this is probably because they only do one kind of exercise (stationary bike), do no weight-training and, I suspect, eat and drink all the wrong things. So of course, if is possible to be a gym-goer and still be fat. Having said that, I lost 14 pounds in the first six months I joined a gym, and have kept it off for the past two years (my BMI is at the bottom end of the healthy range). Besides, working out is a good stress release.

I haven't written a book or done research on anyone other than myself, but I can tell you I lost 110 (yes that was a hundred and ten) pounds by exercising alone - no dieting in less than 2 years. (Okay I did switch to diet coke instead of regular.) But exercise alone does work...you just have to do enough of it to burn more calories than you ate!

Very interesting. After attempting to treat Adult Diabetes II with diet and exercise, it became necessary that I start taking insulin. The weight gain from using insulin has been swift and noticable. Even with my knowledge of food intake, I still haven't found a remedy. Any advice?
