It was New Years 27 years ago that, as a teen, I made a lifestyle choice that stuck with me all of this time. I quit eating meat, and I can still recall my parents' concern over protein, endurance, etc. I am entering my 30th year in police work (retired as a Police captain, began career #2 as a sheriff), and I have never felt better. I still do Alcatraz to SF swims, and have completed 4 marathons since my 45th b-day. I'm no wonder-boy athelete--I just enjoy life. One thing was missing and I hope it is of inspiration to vegans, vegetarians, or animal lovers: I wanted to make a music CD that addressed life as a vegetarian in a carnivorous world, so to speak. I use humor and even life through the lens of animals to inspire and entertain. I wrote all 18 songs and play all of the musical instruments. It is one-of-a-kind stuff you can hear @ www.vegantunes.com

Good plan - you might want to add Group Exercise at the local gym/club. There can be no better suport than a bunch of people working hard to get in shape. Doing it at home takes so much more discipline, its why some people quit. Got to make sure that you keep with the plan for at least 60 days or it may not stick...

proofreading would have been nice: "This will help you stay on top of food, and allow food to control you or sabotage your goals."

This is very helpful...I need to plan and track food and exercise. I held my own over these past two weeks of parties but needed a jump start to the new year. Thanks for reminding me to do both a food journal and excersie journal.
