Glad you're back, Gabby. :) As usual, you just get right to the gut of things, and talk about it in a real, everyday 'regular people' way. I especially needed to read choice #3. Thank you for this blog. Thank you for ALL your blogs.

This post couldn't have come at a better time. If I didn't know better I would have thought that you knew me personally. No more excuses, it is time for a change.

took me a long time to love by body after gaining weight after high school and then packing on the pounds due to diabetes with my 1st pregnancy. took a lot of years, a lot of talking, a lot of action and self discipline to get where i am today. i may not have the "perfect" figure we're all dying to have, but i'm learning to love myself, and it shows through, and working out, taking care of myself is part of that love.

I wish my MIL would read this article and take it to heart. She carries around an extra 100 lbs and she blames it on everything...her medications, the lack of sunlight, her depression, etc. In reality, you have to take responsibility for your own actions and sometimes, you just have to get up and move your butt to lose weight.

This is very good advise. Thank you. I think we all need a poster before us or a note to ourselves that times doesn't wait. We either use it now or we lose it forever, so we have to do our best to be happy as our paths are planned and we know when we get to a road block in life, psychologically and in turn physically, we have to look toward the light. We all as many points in our lives want to give up, but we have to Keep going!!! NEVER STOP!!!

I LOVE the No-nonsense approach Gabby. I was in the locker room the otehr day with a heffer complaining about a triathlon she completed recently and listening to her account of how she dug into the race director because the bike segment was so hilly and difficult. These people kill me as they lay blame all over the place for their lack of ability to push through if only they would stop complaining and GET FIT!!! Laying blame elsewhere in order to elevate one's ego is SO WEAK!

I have dealt with weight issues my whole life (I'm 32) and over the last 3 years started weight watchers and lost 90 lbs. I was doing very well. Here's the issue now, I quit smoking in april. I continue my weight watchers diet but I consume more calories! I have gained 20 lbs. Any advice?! The article was very helpful and was basically my thought when I started this journey.
