    very encouraging. actually, the junk food has been out of my diet since last month. i've been trying to permanently change the way i eat. i always ate pretty good before with the occasional junk food here and there. it will be much different than ever before now. i can't even go near a lot of the health food that i like right now much less any junk food of any sort. everything is very restricted with the exception of a few list of foods and supplements. this is encouraging to see that even fitness gurus slip up with their health fitness cycle once in awhile too and still get back on track. can't ever be afraid to start over again if you slip up. the next moment is always a new one! gotta keep believin' it's going to get better.

    in #2, i meant - everything is very restricted with the exception of a few listed items of food and supplements. i apologize if that was too incoherent.

    I know I can do this, I have to stop and make a decision right then and there to eat an apple with some peanut butter with some 1% milk or I will eat a bag of chips and wash it down with a soda, and most often I can stop that from happening when I'm at the grocery store, if it ain't in my cart, it's not in my house, if it ain't at my house, I can't binge on the junk food and I have to eat something healthier...

    Thanks Gabby, I've been feeling the same way too, turning to junk food and then feeling like crap afterwards, especially with summer and excuses to drink margaritas and mojitos and chips...the whole nine yards. Your advice is really helpful in this posting and I'm putting it to work right now. ciao bella simone

    There is nothing wrong with "a tiny bit of softness on the old body" I don't think junk food is a good habit, but there is nothing wrong with eating tortilla chips or chocolate. Everything in moderation, if you eat a whole bag of chips or a bar of chocolate every day then yes eating habits should be examined. People like Gabrielle Reece need to be careful about projecting body image problems onto young women. Not every woman is a six foot, rock-solid athlete who makes a living off of showing her body in advertisements. Get real, not everyone aspires to be you Gaby!

    #9 - I feel that Gaby struck a nerve and that is why you are getting defensive. I didn't get the feeling that she was telling me I should be like her or aspire to be her (even though I am six foot). She was just giving helpful advice to those who want/need it. Nothing personal.

    i'm adding: beware of voc's...volatile organic chemicals...in indoor and outdoor enviroments. they can be a precursor to not eating healthy foods. your mindful judgement get taken our of you brain...onto a nice food drunk. watch especially carpet, clothing stores as they are loaded. some outdoor spaces are loaded with allergens, insecticides, pesticides, herbacides plus the fumes from vehicles. be cautious, protect yourself and especially children/infants who have much smaller body capacity and can overload almost instantly. so i'd say: llok to the enviroment you are in, been in for some answers. even being around other people's pets can lower one's resistance to good mindfulness.

    #12- maybe she struck a nerve, yes, with the words I quoted. I didn't take her blog personally but I do find the mentality that "softness" equates bad, offensive. My point was "everything in moderation". I believe it is unrealistic to completely cut out pizza or tortilla chips or anything for that matter out of fear of having less than "perfection" for ones body image. It is a slippery slope and one that people in her profession (modeling/advertising)need to tread carefully over. There are too many females with eating disorders that are afraid of "a little bit of softness". I am not defensive of myself (not overweight) but I did take exception to that line.

    Thank you, Gabby. I started my strict diet today. I lost over 50 pounds six years ago, then I had two more children and gained 40 back. I really needed to hear this today. I am completely eliminating sugar which is difficult because it is in everything! But I also think artificial sweetners can effect me similiarly to the insulin rush sugar gives me. Is there any research to support this? Again, thank you so much. Blessings to you.
