This is article just reinforces a message I got elsewhere about needing to to get the proper sleep. I've been having trouble dropping some of the last few remaining pounds. I can't lose it even though I exercise, eat right, and drink water and do all the right things. It really has been bothering the he!! out of me. Now I see this article about lack of sleep linked with obesity and your article about getting out your own way and it's like a sign from above hitting me in the sleep deprived, dazed head. I need to make it a priority to get to sleep on time from now on. Nothing else can get in the way of that if I want to lose weight. I'm seeing the light.

knees can be a problem...so I have one that came on over the years... something I read mentioned the knee cap...then I remembered my brother, as a child, had had a knee cap that was said to have slipped out of place..I never knew how he recovered but I started concentrating on my own and thought about how it had been movable at one time ...following the article's directions I started working with all the muscles ....pulling up and down around my knee...it has helped reduce the pain...when I stand up I pull up consciously on that knee cap and it helps.... I take no pain medicine.........and this isn't my excuse for the way I am today....good luck Gab ......

"If there is a way to evercome suffering, then there is no need to worry,; if there is no way to overcome the suffering there is no use in worrying." Shantideva (Indian scholar) I have heard this before and today, at a public talk by the Dalai Lama (in Perth WA), he repeated the same quote. This pretty much underpins what your message is today. I thought that was pretty cool. Suzie

This was a very motivation article. I am in the same boat. After attempting diet after diet and always failing, I realized that this is mind over matter. I have to make up my mind about losing weight. I have to motivate myself. I have to focus on what I do want to be not what I don't want to be. You become what you focus on. It's like people who live their whole lives saying that they don't want to be their parents and that's what they become, because they never focused on what they did want to be. Thanks for this article!

Great article. This way of thinking can really be applied to the many road blocks we create in our lives that hinder us from improving how we live not only physically but emotionally. Thanks for bringing sharing this perspective

I like this comment since I can´t sometimes get a good sleeping, I by the morning, it goes the hardest for me to get out of bed to go on jogging. My dad and some twelf other relatives, are (or were) diabetic. I thought it could be not just nicest but cheaper to be healthy, but it takes discipline; besides, I´got to "make wealth", and find the girl for me. I don´t think I should stop my health-quest-for because the green food could not taste so fine, or spoil it by excessive drinking, or not to jogg because I´ve got flat feet, and they (specially the left) could be aching a BIT. I believe I must carry on.

Exactly! We have to get our heads right before we can accomplish things. Self-defeating attitude get out of my way! An important element in this is looking to a power that is higher than we are, namely God. Sometimes we just can't do things on our own and need strength. He wants the best for us and will help us acheive it! Great article. Very motivating.
