There are so many body cleansing ingredients advertised right now. I take multiple supplements for a condition that leaves my cells oxygen and nutrient deprived. Somehow, I feel that if I get rid of all the my body toxins, I might possibly delete all the multiple expensive supplements that keep me functioning. I have my 50th highschool reunion coming up in less than two weeks. I may take a trial sample of a body cleanse and calorie blocker I ordered from the internet. Hopefully, I will not worsen my health condition. I'd like to hear comments from others who have tried body cleanse.

I think it would be an excellent idea to cleanse your body before starting a diet. I would like to know of some good recipes.

Detoxing is a pseudo-science myth. Don't believe the hype people...

Just drink plenty of water to flush toxins through your body on a daily basis. Better still, don't eat manufactured foods.

bmk_in_uk: you think our bodies were built to eat processed, sugary, cooked food? Pfffft. I did a 2-week detox at the beginning of the year & was amazed at the results, very similar to the article. Your body detoxes itself but helping it out only enhances the process & doesn't have to cost a lot.

Also increasing your intake of uncooked, organic foods will help your body release toxins. Conventional farming loads the plants up with chemicals, which end up in us. By the time it's cooked up to 70% of the enzymes and nutrients can be lost. Oh yes arron.garry I've done my research.

And for all you out there who think organic is an expensive waste of time - the reason it costs more to buy is that conventional farmers don't take into account the cumulative cost on the environment, & their soil, of spraying chemicals, which has a flow-on effect on our bodies & our health systems.

It's all in your mind... Detox for food has no proven fact and never will, it’s a marketing ploy and people being like sheep buy this.... it’s like saying the Easter bunny is real... do you believe in your own lies?

I do think most people take food for granted. Like this report suggests, it's more than just about weight loss or short term "cleansing". It's about re-appreciating food, and looking at food to nourish your body and fuel to function properly.

I cook 90% of food I eat, and the other day I had a mouth full of house mates' packaged pasta & sauce. I was surprised how salty it tasted! way too much salt and I used to not taste the salt before when I used to eat them.

I also found that simply stop eating high sugar foods like chocolate and any sort of takeaway, I had gained these benefits and it's definately true about realising how much you overeat as a person! After about a month of reducing my intake to what I found my gut system started working properly

I never knew how salty food was either until I started cooking again, now I have a baby I'm so glad I'm so aware of these hidden flavour enhancers! Stop eating takeaway and processed food you'll notice how much better your body functions as a whole!

Its good to see that whole world is turning to Islam in the name of detoxing where muslims fast for the whole month in order to clean their inside as well as morally too. People who are trying to detox they are actually one step closer to Islam. More to come in future
