LOL! Can't believe this is in the nutrition section, not the comedy section. If you're wondering what are the best foods to eat, read Gary Null, Michio Kushi, Tom Monte (and more). The information offered on this website will not help you get or stay healthy....it's obviously paid for by advertizers.

Well, the 30 Worst Foods In America might've been interesting and informative had it not been for a pop-up ad for a subscription to Men's Health, which you CANNOT close, getting in the way to prevent one from finishing the article!!!! Talk about irritating, annoying, etc., etc.

Again, I really think Arctic Zero ice cream should be on here since it's guilt free in all senses of the word.

Isn't it a 'no duh' that people who drink a cool beverage before exercising in warm weather will be able to exercise longer?

Just a few months ago I read on the net an article about drinking water stating that drinking cold water causes your stomach muscles to contract and to excrete enzimes that are not good for your stomach lining unless you have food in it. It also stated if you drink water you should drink it at room temperature. I never know what or who to believe when I read these things???

I replaced my daily fluids with water. Teas, colas, juice-drinks, sports drinks, all of that, gone. Just water. I saved just under 4,000 calories a week. That's 1 pound of body fat + 500 calories. I quit the slow, steady weight gain I was doing without altering anything else about my lifestyle. I felt better. With the tea and cola gone, I slept better at night, too. That doesn't cover the amount of money I save at restaurants that charge around $2 a beverage, or gorcery stores, etc. I treat myself to a special decaf tea drink at a coffee house, or a hot chocolate, or even a sugared soda no mor than once a week. Guilt free, too.

That's so funny, because yesterday I was reading a REAL article on cycling about how it doesn't matter at all what you put in during your workout because your body will use whatever you give it. It doesn't matter the ratios of carbs, protein, or fat, your body will toss it out immediately as fuel. As usual, this particular moron should be fired for giving bad advice.

Caffeine should not be used as a replacement for "pain relievers" after exercise. If you hurt enough after your run or workout to need something, it is mostly due to inflammation in the muscle tissue. Coffee may blunt pain, but does nothing for the source of the pain, which is the inflammation. Inflammation inhibits real muscle recovery, and is fingered as a source for ultimate heart disease. The right "pain reliever" (e.g. ibuprofen) will relieve the pain while also reducing inflammation, actually doing you some good.

I eat a lot of whole grains mostly when I'm going to be really active...Whole wheat breads, pastas without meat sauce but with sauce. Meat will slow you down and some cuts of meats will put weight on you because meat is protein. Most people get their daily allowence of meat/protein in a days time at other times. The more protein you eat...the more weight you may gain, folks. Water, some juices and tea of any variety. I live in the south, so I drink a lot of iced teas of variety. What about my stats? Oh yeah. I'm 5'2 and weigh a whopping 108lbs.! I haven't always been this size. As a matter of fact, I've been bigger and stronger at 148lbs. So pick your poisen...little/small and weaker or bigger and stronger:) Main thing is to eat good, real, foods. No processed, no colors, dyes, preservatives foods. Eat often and eat your veggies:)
