    This is a great list! For all of those posting comments about "look at all the sodium" etc. Yeah, hello it's FAST FOOD, not HEALTH FOOD. I think the point the authors are trying to make is that fast food can be worked into your diet (implied portion: in a limited fashion). What they are providing are options that allow you to add in some of your favorite restaurants fare without blowing away your hard earned pounds lost. Another site I have found that has 500 calorie or less restaurant "meals" is www.500calorierestaurantmeals.com . Imaginative website name isn't it! :-) 500calorierestaurantmeals.com state it has over 400 of these 500 cal or less meals at more than 20 restaurants. With these types of resources, fast food is back on my menu! (in a limited fashion, not just hogging down anything I want). Enjoy it for what it is, don't bash it for what it wasn't meant to be.

    I check out the nutrition menus online for fast food places and add up the calories and have my choice prepared. Also, I throw away the top buns and eat my sandwiches like a piece of pizza. Try not to use mayo just little ketchup or just all fresh veges with or without cheese. If I get a small french fry, I only eat 1/2 the order. Just eat 1/2 a combo meal. Save the rest for tomorrow's lunch when you are at home.

By substituting their side of mixed veggies (190 calories) for rice or chow mein in a Panda Bowl, any of the below entrees will give you a lunch of 500 calories or less, when served with a diet soda, water or unsweetened tea: Eggplant and Tofu (310 cal) Mixed Veggie Entree (100 cal) Black Pepper Chicken (200 cal) Broccoli Chicken (180 cal) Kung Pao Chicken (300 cal) Mandarin Chicken (310 cal) Mushroom Chicken (180 cal) Pineapple Chicken (230 cal) Potato Chicken (220 cal) String Bean Chicken (190 cal) Pineapple Chicken Breast (230 cal) String Bean Chicken Breast (200 cal) Broccoli Beef (150 cal) Mongolian Beef (200 cal) Tangy Shrimp (140 cal) A serving of their egg flower soup contains 90 calories and only 2 grams of fat, no saturated fat and no trans-fat. To make it easy, Panda Express includes a "Wok Smart" menu in their restaurants that lists their dishes that are 250 calories or less per serving.     Eating informed means that you not only what you *shouldn't* put in your body at all, but which choices are the lesser of two (or more!) evils. Sure, we'd all be a lot healthier if we all stayed home, grew our own pesticide-free fruits and veggies, cut down on meat and processed foods and cooked for ourselves with minimal salt, sugar and added fats. However, it's simply not feasble for 100% of people to do it 100% of the time. The menus above aren't intended to be "healthy", but they are intended to be the "healthier" of what could be disastrous food decisions. For example, my boss likes to be generous and take the whole office to lunch or dinner once or twice a year. Guess what his favorite restaurant for lunch is? Romano's Macaroni Grill..... I certainly don't want to insult the man who signs my checks by refusing to eat at the restaurant he's paying for - but given that it's only once or twice a year, I can use the "Eat This. Not That" guide to pick something that's "not as bad" as the rest.
