Energy drinks are pointless. The best way to get energy is to eat the right foods, exercise and get adequate sleep. No energy drink, not even coffee, is a healthy solution.

I totally agree with you your 5 choices here. There're full of sugar, calories & caffeine. I found the best and healthier solution to the energy drink crisis. That is XS Energy Drinks. They come in 13 flavors and the new XS Gold has a bunch of vitamins, amino acids, & herbs to help with focus, immunuty & energy. Your energy level plateau's like walking up and down steps and not a rollercoaster rush that so many of the other energy drinks do. I get them at www.sadenaike.com Go to the "PRODUCTS" tab.

My advice is exercise. It will give you a natural energy boost. I have cut caffeine out of my diet 100% and I get up every day at 5:00am jump on the treadmill for 35 minutes. I am rarely tired. I drink a gallon of water a day. And guess what I can eat just about anything I want without gaining weight.

I used to drink energy drinks all the time ESPECIALLY AMPed ... I now have been batteling a kidney infection.. the energy drinks caused my kidneys to go into failure. I drink 2 liters of water a day on top of the drinks but i would drink one to two a day. I will never again drink one.

I bet Rock Star is just as bad as the #1. FRS is pretty good though, the one Lance Armstrong drinks.

Somehow I am not surprised. Nobody needs energy drinks anyway. They're a ridiculous marketing scheme and a waste of money. Nobody really needs them because if you get enough sleep, exercise and eat right, you have a good amount of energy. There are just another thing to contribute to the laziness of this society. Making people think, "I don't need to exercise and if I don't sleep, I can just have an energy drink." I never drank these before nor do I want to. I never saw the point in them.

Actually I'll say five hour energy isn't safe at all as my friend had one the same time I had a rockstar in the morning. We both went to pt as we're in the military and he passed out with a 104 core temp. after our 3m run. So i'd say stay away from them when you can.

The crazy thing about some energy drinks is that you don't even have to drink them to get a boost while you're exercising. You can trick your brain into giving your muscles more energy by just swishing them around your mouth and spitting them out. http://seedmagazine.com/content/article/energy_for_nothing/

I guess the 8000% or whatever B12 that is in 5 hour energy isn't worth mentioning? Caffiene is a joke.
