Try a smaller portion of your favorite sandwich & a mixed green salad, too! These are available at most fast food establishments..

All of the items referenced as substitutes are very high in salt. An oven roasted chicken breast salad at Subway would be much healthier. It contains less fat and less salt.

The thing that this guy is totally ignoring is the fact that ALL of the items he listed are FAKE FOODS! There is no health what so ever found in these food chains. Eat whole, organic foods, and at least 5 or 6 square meals a day to gain or loose weight.

Katherine - You said it PERFECTLY. "However, many times people won't be losing weight - they'll just be gaining at a slower pace." All of the food on this list is crap. My Mom bought his book, it's a waste of money. And as others have said, he always compares the extremes and then goes for a totally different option. Comparison FAIL.

Food nazis will never give up. Once everything they want is banned, they will move to the next thing for you not to do with your body on your time with your money.

wow i didn't realize how many nutrition experts are out there scouring the web pages to jump anyones ass who's telling people to cut their portion sizes.... and just from making the switch from the largest thing to the smallest thing would in fact keep any additional weight off of you which to some people would be a big help.

What this guy always fails to mention is that he's orgering the largest sizes possible when it comes to the "not This!" parts. If you ordered the small version of almost anything on this list, they would make for really good (and occassional) treats. Plus is it just me or does anyone else find it weird that this is a guy who is talking about food like a stingy mother-in-law? (ex. "Blame the gobs of calorie- and fat-packed mayo, the endless inches of carb-heavy bread, and the full day’s worth of sodium." .....wtf? Nobody talks like that unless they want to shame you into not eating something...or that they themselves are paranoid about food...)

I usually enjoy these things but this one is sort of.. the worst one I've seen. Really.. You compare a LARGE sandwich to a small sandwich? I mean you might as well just tell someone to not eat as much. And isnt that fruit blast.. a smoothie? Not a milkshake? I dont know, but I hope this was just a brain fart this time and the rest will continue to be good comparasins!
