Notice he downsized the portions on everything. You could cut a lot of calories by having the sandiwch you want and switching it to a small, too.

This article is so incredibly stupid. He is just comparing the extremes to get a shock value, and in fact will most likely make people eat more of this fast food crap because now they think they can eat healthy there. He completely ignored the fact that yeah one item might be less calories, but you are talking about eating something that is not even a snack compared to a full meal. This guy is reaching for articles now.

I suppose it would absolutely kill you to suggest SIMILAR FOODS instead of something completely different, now, wouldn't it?

Um... this is decent advice as far as it goes - and if you have to eat fast food there are some great tips. However, many times people won't be losing weight - they'll just be gaining at a slower pace. The bottom line is, that if you eat like this several times a week, there's a good chance you're still taking in more calories than you're burning up or, in other words, gaining weight.

When he shows the "bad" choice, he always has the largest portion. Diary Qween offers the chicken in a smaller 4 piece size. I know 2 pieces does not make much of a difference, but it is something. The same with shake, he shows the large size. I know if I want a treat of something that is not that good for me, I get the small size, then I don't hate myself the next day.

I am appalled that anyone who purports to know enough about nutrition to have an "advice" column would even remotely suggest that anything from a fast food restaurant could pass as "food". With all the exposes available on factory farming (cow-meat), antibiotic/hormone content, and the carcinogenic dangers of high-temperature cooking with most oils (french fries) it is irresponsible to lead people to believe one fast-food item is "better" than another. That's like saying smoking half a pack a day isn't as damaging as smoking a whole pack. Check out "Fast Food Nation" or "Super-size Me" easily available at any video store.

This is crap. The sodium content alone from either choices will hinder anyone from losing weight. If you're trying to lose weight, GET OFF YOUR ASS TO EXERCISE AND EAT SOMETHING OTHER THAN FAST FOOD!

Another stupid article by this wannabe food person. Some of those places listed aren't even in all states. Egg McMuffin's are nasty tasting. Give me a Sausage McMuffin with egg any day. Eating at DQ off the hot menu? Too friggen expensive. Their wannabe dollar menu is a joke. I can eat better at Wendy's or KFC's dollar menus. If I want an Oreo milkshake, I'm going to have it. I get them as an occasional treat as it is. If I want a smoothie, I'll go to Jamba Juice or make one at home.

Ever see the episode of the Simpson's where Homers diet expert has him substitute every thing for a bell pepper? This guy makes a living doing that. Want a cheese burger? Eat a bell pepper Fries? Eat a bell pepper Beer? Eat a bell pepper
